The Embassy & The Anchor – The Silent Occupation
Said the taxi driver taking us to the vet. He was a young man who smoked heavily and was very chatty and inquisitive. As we drove by the US embassy he pointed it out. He mentioned how large it is and how white and that “many people work for them in there.” His tone was of annoyance, disdain, maybe even disappointment. He was quiet after as if waiting for our reaction. We didn’t say much. I knew what his tone meant and I just went on to say to my son, Jovan, that this is where he needs to go to renew his passport before we leave.
Later, my son even noticed it, asking, "Why did he say that like that? Like what does that mean?" He immediately said “I don’t wanna eat the meat here.” Of course my son knows about my research in South Korea of what products and how much of them they import from US. Usually, with these types of comments and demeanor we get about US we let them know it’s ok. You can tell us how you really feel. We understand. There’s a reason we’re here and not there. We also share we’re from a modern-day colony of the US so if anyone knows what they do, is us. That always opens up the flood gates and we get to hear “how they REALLY feel.”
Anyway, the taxi driver saying that reminded me of a conversation I had just last month in Crete. While giving me a tour of a Venetian fort, the person casually mentioned that the U.S. parks its Navy fleet right there in Crete when they aren't active .
A massive embassy running the country in Athens. A Navy fleet parked in Crete… hmmm.
Why? Because even Greek islands are a strategic location.
The Illusion of Protection
As a digital nomad, I make it my business to know where I am and what the local relations are with the U.S. And the more I travel, the more confirmation I get of just how long the US tentacles really are.
The reality looks a lot more like a silent, modern-day colonization of many, many countries.
Think about my home island of Puerto Rico. It is kept as a U.S. territory for the exact same reason the Navy parks in Crete: it’s a strategic location . When you are on an island in the middle of the ocean, you can shoot or bomb in any direction . That is precisely why the U.S. holds onto Puerto Rico, Guam, and Hawaii. They are global anchors for a military machine.
They keep us in the dark about what they actually do overseas, masking land control as "helping governments". But when you step outside the borders of the U.S., you feel the truth. You hear it in the unhappy tone of a Greek taxi driver. You see the tentacles of these systems everywhere. In South Korea, I spoke to elderly who were not happy with the events of the Korean War. Of course. The more I dove into that topic on my own, the more I saw (and maybe the articles even admitted it) who started the whole thing. To know the motives of a thing all we have to look at is who it benefited. More on South Korea some other time. It’s currently one of my favorite places in the world. And I plan to go back again and again.
The Toxic Passport
There is a shift happening globally. The U.S. passport, once the ultimate software key to the global grid, has become a Legacy Tether—it’s a frequency that no longer grants access to the hearts of the people. It sucks that us latinos and hispanics, who have been conquered and oppressed for hundreds of years, are put in this category if we have an American passport. It’s either that or the world still believes we were the savages that had to be civilized- the “his-story” the colonizers wrote, so the treatment is A LOT as if we’re not smart people.
I think the world has woken up to all the lies, pretense and illusions; or at least it slowly is. Darker-skinned latinos don’t only deal with racism from the caucasians though. We also deal with it from our own community- the white latinos. This is due to the fact that there is in fact a separation, although we’re mostly a mixed people now, there was once operation “blanquemiento” (whitening) when the colonizers paid European familes to come to South America to “whiten” the population. When you travel to these parts guess which latinos have the means to live better than the other latinos?
This is a global issue. The billboards I saw in Bali, Indonesia and Phuket and Chaing Mai, Thailand did not represent the locals I was seeing all over the place. Why did the billboards have Korean-looking and Japanese-looking people while the population is mostly dark? For the same reason South Korea is a go-to for Russian models. The absurdity of it all (rolling my eyes).
I won't be getting a digital nomad visa here in Greece because I simply don't like the energy . Thanks to our government's foreign policies and the things they have done globally, there are already countries that do not want Americans in their country. And as always, the citizens are the ones who pay the price for what the government does.
It's time the rest of the Americans start looking at the map differently. It’s time they stop listening to the programming and start asking why there is a massive Vertical Monolith in the middle of an ancient city, and in so many other foreign lands, and most important of all why the locals aren't smiling about it.
Everything we just found out in the US is not only happening on US land. It’s a global evil but there are a very specific group of people behind it.
Everyone needs to watch Sound of Freedom movie (I bawled my eyes out). It’s also time to support organizations like World Beyond Wars.
If you ask me it’s time to stop trying to patch a collapsing structure. We need a complete architectural demolition of these corrupt systems—a systematic dismantling of everything that is structurally unsound—so we can finally clear the ground and start rebuilding on a foundation of truth.
